In honor of the holiday weekend, I thought I would share my mom's great recipe for BBQ beef. All you need is a crockpot, a beef roast, a jar of your favorite BBQ sauce and hamburger buns -- the cheaper the better in my opinion.
Just place the roast in your crockpot and cook on low for about 10 hours. When it is finished it should be tender enough to just fall apart. Shred it with a fork in a bowl to maintain the juices. Add BBQ sauce until the consistency is good for you. Some people like to slather it and just taste sauce (like my Dad), some people still like a hint of of the yummy roast (like me).
Depending on the size of the roast and your family, you may even be able to make BBQ Quesadillas the next day. I just love two meals for the price of one! Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Are you supposed to add any water to the roast or anything so it is not dry?

As long as you leave the lid on the Crockpot, it should be nice and moist without adding extra water.

Okay, what kind of seasoning is that person adding in that picture?

I'm pretty sure it's just salt and pepper.
It was just the prettiest picture of a roast I could find. I didn't have time to take one myself. :-)

We do exactly the same thing but with pork. Delicious!

That sounds good, Carrie. I'd never thought of trying it with pork! We'll have to do that next time. Thanks!
